Dutch MEP Speaks Out Against Georgia’s New Laws
The Georgian Parliament has made changes to two important laws. Dutch Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Thijs Reuten is not happy with these changes.
He thinks that the new laws will hurt people’s rights in Georgia. “A full crackdown on civil rights in Georgia is coming”, he said on Twitter.
Reuten believes that the government in Georgia, led by the party GD, is becoming too powerful. He says they are copying methods used by autocrats (people who have complete control over a country).
The MEP thinks that sanctions should be put in place to stop this from happening.
