**Georgian President Heads to Strasbourg**
Lithuanian politician Rasa Juknevičienė has announced that Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili is traveling to Strasbourg, France. Juknevičienė made the statement in a debate about Georgia held at the European Parliament.
**Protests in Georgia**
According to Juknevičienė, the people of Georgia are fighting for their democratic rights. She said that many Georgians were detained and beaten by police during recent protests, but more and more people are joining the movement. Juknevičienė also mentioned that journalists were among those who were attacked.
**New Elections Needed**
Juknevičienė believes that the only solution to Georgia’s current crisis is holding new elections. She thinks that the last parliamentary election was unfair and that President Salome Zurabishvili is still a legitimate leader, having been elected by the people.
**EU Action Needed**
The Lithuanian politician called on European leaders and ministers to take action. She asked them to visit Tbilisi urgently and to impose sanctions on those responsible for electoral fraud and violence against peaceful protesters.
