EU to Increase Pressure on Georgia‘s Government
The European Union is looking for ways to put more pressure on the government of Georgia. The goal is to stop them from using violence against protesters and suppressing opposition parties.
This was said by EU High Representative Kaja Kallas in Brussels, before a meeting with top EU leaders. She mentioned that no agreement was reached last Monday about putting sanctions on Georgia. Sanctions are penalties imposed by one country on another.
Kallas stated that the EU needs to keep working on this issue. She wants the EU to send a strong message to Georgia’s government.
