**NATO Must Contain Russia for Next 20 Years**
Estonia’s top intelligence official has warned that NATO will need to keep a close eye on Russia for the next two decades. This comes as Ukraine continues to resist Russian aggression.
The head of Estonian foreign intelligence said that NATO’s main task over the next 10-20 years will be to stop Russia from getting any ideas about pushing into Western Europe with its military. Estonia, which shares a border with Russia and is part of NATO, has increased its defense spending since the war in Ukraine began.
**Estonia Boosts Defense**
To prepare for potential threats, Estonia has doubled its defense spending this year. The country now spends 3.4% of its gross domestic product on defense, making it one of the highest spenders among NATO members. From next year, Estonia will also increase taxes to stockpile ammunition and prepare for possible defense needs.
