Russian Missile Hits Residential Building in Ukraine, Injuring 5 People
A Russian missile struck a two-story residential building in the city of Kryvyi Rih overnight on December 19. The attack injured five people, including a child.
Rescue efforts were quickly underway to help those trapped under the rubble. A 15-year-old girl and a man were rescued from under the debris. Three other people between the ages of 38 and 82 were also injured in the attack.
All of the injured are in moderate condition. The windows of a nearby 10-story building were shattered, according to Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Governor Serhii Lysak.
This is not the first time Kryvyi Rih has been targeted by Russian missiles. Just a day earlier, the city was attacked in a blitz that targeted several cities across Ukraine, killing one person and injuring eight.
Air attacks against Ukrainian cities are becoming more frequent, with Russia targeting residential buildings and critical energy infrastructure. Ukraine’s air defenses have struggled to keep up with the high number of drones and missiles launched by Russia.
