**Former TV Mtavari Arkhi Owner Speaks Out**
A former owner of the Georgian television channel TV Mtavari Arkhi has spoken out about corruption and financial crimes within the company. Kakha Okuashvili, who founded the channel on the base of TV Iberia, made the allegations in a statement.
**Financial Crimes Exposed**
Okuashvili claims that former director Nika Gvaramia and current general director Giorgi Gabunia have committed financial crimes while working at TV Mtavari Arkhi. He alleges that they laundered millions of dollars through international bank accounts, including in Europe and Great Britain.
**Artificial Bankruptcy**
Okuashvili also claims that Gvaramia drove the channel to the brink of artificial bankruptcy, leaving it with a state debt of 13 million GEL (around $2.5 million USD). He further alleges that Gvaramia misappropriated funds belonging to the Omega Group, which Okuashvili owns.
**Pressure on Channel**
Okuashvili claims that there has been pressure on TV Mtavari Arkhi since a director appointed by him revealed the crimes of Gvaramia and Gabunia. Despite warnings from authorities, including the Ministry of Finance, National Bank, and Revenue Service, no action has been taken.
**Solution Needed**
Okuashvili believes that the only way to maintain the independence of TV Mtavari Arkhi is for Giorgi Gabunia to resign as general director. He suggests that a new board should be elected from representatives of the public to ensure that the channel operates within the law and broadcasts in a balanced and objective manner.
**Call to Action**
Okuashvili has called on the real second majority shareholder, besides him, to take an active position and prevent TV Mtavari Arkhi from falling victim to political plans. He believes that with timely action, both shareholders can place the channel back in service of society.
