**Ukraine Hits Back at Russian Drone and Missile Attacks**
The Ukrainian military has successfully downed 40 out of 65 enemy drones, including Shahed-type drones and unmanned aerial vehicles. They also intercepted five ballistic missiles, similar to Russia’s Iskander-M or North Korea‘s KN-23.
These successful interceptions came as Ukraine faced a series of Russian missile attacks on December 20. The attack on Kyiv left one person dead, 10 injured, and caused significant damage to the city.
**Russian Attacks Hit Residential Areas**
In the Kherson region, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack targeting residential areas and critical infrastructure facilities. At least two people were killed, while 10 more were injured. Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported on these attacks.
The village of Shevchenko in Donetsk Oblast was also hit by Russian attacks. Four people were killed, including civilians from the villages of Katerynivka and Siversk. Three more were injured in the region.
**Other Attacks Reported**
In Kryvyi Rih, a two-story house was damaged by a Russian missile strike, leaving six people injured, including a 15-year-old girl.
Russian attacks also hit the Kharkiv Oblast, injuring two women aged 46 and 54. The town of Kupiansk reported three injuries in a separate attack that damaged 12 houses and a Nova Poshta postal depot.
