Russian Military Plane Explodes Near Moscow
A Russian military plane exploded at an airfield in Moscow, causing a lot of damage. The incident happened on December 12th.
The plane was a Soviet-made transport aircraft called the An-72. It is used mainly by the military and is valued at around $4.5 million. The airfield where it exploded is about 620 miles from Ukraine‘s border.
Ukraine’s military has been trying to target Russian air assets since they started fighting in February 2022. They see this as a way to weaken Russia’s ability to fight in the air.
The explosion was reported by Ukraine’s Intelligence agency, which said there will be consequences for Russia’s actions against Ukraine.
