**Russian Airport Suspends Flights After Drone Attack**
A drone attack in the Russian city of Kazan has caused chaos, with flights suspended at the city’s airport. According to reports, eight drones were launched on December 21, hitting several buildings across three districts.
Five of the drones targeted residential buildings, with four crashing into high-rise apartments and one hitting a low-rise building. Miraculously, no casualties have been reported so far.
The airport in Kazan, as well as another nearby in Izhevsk, has suspended flights due to the attack. Schools in the area have also been evacuated, although it’s not clear how many students were affected.
**Russia Intensifies Ukraine Conflict**
This is the latest in a series of drone attacks carried out by Ukraine against Russian targets. The aim is to weaken Russia’s military efforts and disrupt its supply chain.
Ukraine has also launched missiles at industrial facilities, including an oil depot in Kaluga earlier this month. These strikes are part of a broader effort to target Russian military and economic infrastructure.
**UN Reports High Civilian Toll**
The United Nations has reported that over 12,000 civilians have been killed or injured in Ukraine since February last year. The war has also had significant economic costs, with the IMF approving a $1.1 billion loan for Ukraine on December 20.
