**President Joins Protests in Georgia**
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, will attend a rally in front of the Parliament today. She is expected to give a speech at 9:00 PM.
Earlier this week, she said that new elections are what many Georgians want. This is not the first time she has made this point.
**Protests Continue**
Today marks the 25th day of protests by Georgian citizens. People have been marching and protesting throughout the capital city. A large protest is planned for today in front of the Parliament, scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
The protesters are demanding two things: the release of people who were detained during the protests, and new elections. Their main goal is to force the government to hold talks with the European Union about joining the EU. The government’s decision not to do this until the end of 2028 sparked these large-scale protests.
