Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze commented on the situation with President Salome Zurabishvili.
The Prime Minister said that President Zurabishvili will have to leave office on December 29. He believes she knows not to break any laws, so she won’t go to prison.
Some European politicians think a lot can happen before the end of the month. But the Prime Minister is sure that nothing important will change. He thinks that Georgia’s “deep state” and radical opposition will not win.
The Prime Minister also talked about what might happen if President Zurabishvili tries to stay in her office. If she does, she might go to prison. But the Prime Minister doesn’t think this would be a good idea for anyone involved.
He compared it to a previous situation where a person named Melia was arrested. The Prime Minister said that if President Zurabishvili stays in her residence, she will put others at risk of getting into trouble too.
