**Council of Europe Chief Slams Georgian PM**
Theodoros Rousopoulos, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, has strongly criticized Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for threatening to imprison President Salome Zourabichvili after her term ends on December 29.
Rousopoulos said Kobakhidze’s threat is “unacceptable” and goes against democratic principles. He reminded Kobakhidze that Georgia is a member of the Council of Europe, which means it must follow its rules and standards.
The President called on Kobakhidze to withdraw his statement and follow the principles of the Council of Europe, which he must respect as a member country.
