**Dozens Killed in Israeli Strikes on Gaza**
At least 28 Palestinians, including children, were killed in a wave of Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip. The United Nations has called for Israel to stop its attacks near a hospital in Gaza City’s northern region.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said they would respond with force against terrorist organizations, but Palestinian officials say civilians are being targeted. A school was hit, killing many people who had taken shelter there.
One man, Abu, was sleeping at the school when it was attacked. He described hearing a powerful blast and seeing destruction all around him. Another man, Mahmoud, said he was in a tent in the schoolyard when the attack occurred. He expressed his shock and pain at the cruelty of the situation.
**Schools and Hospitals Under Attack**
The director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital said its generators were hit by Israeli forces, making it difficult to provide medical care to patients. The hospital is calling for a ceasefire in its vicinity to protect patients and health workers.
The BBC has asked the IDF to comment on these claims. Palestinian groups involved in the fighting have told the BBC that a ceasefire deal is “closer than ever”. However, no official agreement has been announced yet.
