**Ukraine Receives $1.1 Billion from IMF**
The government of Ukraine has received a large amount of money from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This is the sixth time this year that the IMF has given Ukraine money to help with its budget.

**Government Grateful**
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to the IMF for its support during the war. He said that the country needs external financing to cover its expenses and maintain economic stability.
**More Funding Needed**
In 2023, Ukraine received $42.5 billion in foreign aid. However, the Finance Ministry says that this amount is not enough and needs to increase by at least $12 billion next year.
**IMF Comments**
The IMF’s Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva, stated that Russia’s war with Ukraine has had a devastating impact on the country’s economy. She also praised Ukrainian authorities for their skillful policymaking in preserving macroeconomic stability and keeping the financial sector stable.
