**UK and Ukraine Agree to Improve Military Training**
The UK’s Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, has spoken with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. They agreed that the UK should improve its training of Ukrainian forces.
This came after it was revealed that the Ministry of Defence is considering sending British troops to Ukraine to help train its armed forces. The UK has been training Ukrainian soldiers in Britain since 2022, and a small team of British Army medics are also providing training inside Ukraine.
The two leaders discussed Operation Interflex, which has trained over 45,000 Ukrainian personnel on British soil since Russia invaded Ukraine. They agreed that the UK should refine its offer to help bolster Ukraine’s military strength.
**Support for Ukraine**
Zelensky thanked Sir Keir and the British people for their support, saying it continues to save Ukrainian lives. The call came after Sir Keir attended a summit in Estonia with other European leaders to discuss support for Ukraine.
The group of countries, known as the Joint Expeditionary Force, agreed to take concrete action to help Ukraine. This includes further sanctions on Russia’s oil trade and more aid for Ukraine’s military industry.
