**Ukraine’s President Outlines Strategy for Post-Assad Syria**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has outlined his country’s strategy for engaging with post-Assad Syria. In a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on December 23, he emphasized the importance of regional stability.
Zelenskyy had previously announced that Ukraine was ready to deliver grain to Syria to prevent a food crisis after Assad’s fall. He instructed the government to organize humanitarian grain supplies and tasked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with establishing contacts with Syrian representatives.
**Ukraine Urges More Sanctions Against Russian Shadow Fleet**
The President also discussed Russia’s shadow fleet of tankers, which helps Moscow bypass sanctions. Ukraine is urging more sanctions against this fleet after several Russian tankers sank in the Black Sea, causing an environmental disaster.
Zelenskyy thanked Britain for its continued support and readiness to help. He emphasized that aging Russian tankers are leaking fuel oil along coastlines, causing damage to seas worldwide.
**North Korean Casualties in Kursk Surpassed 3,000**
The President reported that Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi had informed him of over 3,000 North Korean casualties in the Kursk operations. Zelenskyy criticized Moscow’s transfer of military technologies to North Korea and its support of the Pyongyang regime.
**Fico’s Visit to Moscow Criticized**
Zelenskyy also criticized Slovak Prime Minister Fico’s visit to Moscow. He stated that Fico is fighting for money, not for Slovakia‘s state interests. Zelenskyy offered compensation for Slovak losses from Russian transit cuts and alternatives for non-Russian gas transit.
