Opposition Leaders Meet with President of Georgia
Leaders from the Unity – National Movement, a Georgian opposition group, have met with President Salome Zurabishvili. They discussed how to hold new elections that will be trusted by the public.
According to Giorgi Vashadze, one of the leaders, the meeting was productive. The opposition and the president agreed on changes needed for the elections to be held properly. They also talked about returning the government to its constitutional framework.
The protest in Georgia continues, with many people participating. President Zurabishvili will make a statement tomorrow at 19:00 about the new decisions made today.
Vashadze said that the self-proclaimed regime, which has caused chaos in the country, now has a chance to contribute to the return to the constitutional framework. If they do not do this, the opposition will have to switch to another regime.
The opposition and President Zurabishvili will discuss the organizational mechanism for leading the political-social process in Georgia. This will involve talking to partners and communicating with citizens.
