Russian troops have started using military equipment near the towns of Toretsk and Chasiv Yar in Donetsk Oblast. According to Anastasia Bobovnikova, a spokesperson for the Operational Tactical Group Luhansk, fighting has taken place in the village of Nelipivka north of Toretsk.
**Heavy Fighting in Toretsk**
The situation in Toretsk is described as “the most difficult”. Fighting is taking place on every street and house. Russian troops are using armored combat vehicles, motorcycles, and buggies to attack Ukrainian forces.
**Russian Advances in Ukraine**
In recent months, Toretsk and Chasiv Yar have become one of the hottest spots in Donetsk Oblast as Russian troops continue advancing in Ukraine’s east. It is difficult for Russian tanks and armored combat vehicles to maneuver in urban areas like these towns.
**Ukraine Bracing for Larger Attacks**
Throughout 2024, Ukraine has faced a challenging situation in its defense of the front line. Apart from Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine expects Russian forces to launch larger-scale attacks in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.
