**Ukraine Approves Homemade Drone for Military Use**
On December 25, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced that a homemade drone called Shchedryk has been approved for military use.
**What is Shchedryk?**
The Shchedryk aerial vehicle consists of a control station and a remotely piloted aircraft with silent electric motors. It can operate in strong winds, frost, or heat, and can monitor the actions of Russian troops on the battlefield.
**Advantages Over Enemy Forces**
According to Deputy Defense Minister Dmytro Klimenkov, Shchedryk’s capabilities and optical equipment allow it to operate at altitudes difficult for enemy air defense systems to reach. This makes it a valuable asset in Ukraine’s military efforts.
**Ukraine’s Drone Program**
The approval of Shchedryk comes as part of Ukraine’s drone program, which has seen the development and successful use of various drones for reconnaissance, combat, and other tasks throughout the full-scale conflict with Russia.
