Protest in Georgia
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, wrote on social media about the country’s protests. She said that it’s rare for many national minorities to come together and demand change.
Many citizens are marching through Tbilisi today, one month after the start of the protests. They want significant changes in their country. The protest is being led by ethnic Azerbaijani and Armenian citizens.
The president’s comment highlighted the unusual unity among different groups in Georgia during this time. She mentioned that it’s not common for many national minorities to work together towards a shared goal, which is a European future for Georgia.
