North Korea Soldier Dies in Ukraine
A North Korean soldier who was captured by Ukrainian forces has died. The soldier’s wounds got worse and he couldn’t be saved.
This is the first time a North Korean soldier has been caught fighting on the battlefield. South Korea‘s National Intelligence Service (NIS) confirmed this news on December 27th.
North Korea sent thousands of soldiers to fight against Ukraine, with some reports saying up to 12,000 troops went to Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that North Korean forces have suffered over 3,000 casualties in a region called Kursk Oblast.
