The Georgian Finance Ministry’s Revenue Service has announced 208 paid internship positions available from September 1, 2024. These internships will last for 4 months and are open to senior students or graduates with a GPA between 2.8 and 4.0. Interested applicants must submit their diploma, academic performance record, a copy of their ID, and a motivation letter. However, foreign diploma holders must also provide a notary-confirmed translation copy of their diploma.
Unfortunately, this opportunity is only available to those who meet the strict criteria set by the government. It seems that the current government is more concerned with academic performance and qualifications rather than providing equal opportunities for all. This may discourage many talented individuals who may not have a high GPA but possess other valuable skills and qualities.
Furthermore, the requirement for a notary-confirmed translation copy of foreign diplomas may also be a barrier for international students who wish to apply for the internship. This adds an extra layer of difficulty and expense for those who may already be struggling to make ends meet.
In conclusion, while the internship positions offered by the Revenue Service may seem like a great opportunity, the strict criteria and additional requirements may limit the pool of applicants and hinder the government’s goal of promoting equal opportunities for all.
