**UK Supports Ukraine in War Crimes Probe**
The UK has given $5.6 million to help Ukraine investigate and prosecute war crimes committed by Russian forces.
This funding will be used to document, investigate, and prosecute these crimes. The number of reported executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) has increased dramatically, with 109 confirmed in 2024 alone.
**UK Military Aid Package**
The UK also pledged a new $282 million military package to support Ukraine’s defense efforts. This includes air defense systems, drones, counter-drone technology, and munitions.
During his visit to Kyiv, British Defense Secretary John Healey said that the UK will continue to support Ukraine despite Russian nuclear threats. The UK has provided Ukraine with over 400 different types of weapons since 2022 and has committed to sending £3 billion in military aid every year.
**War Crimes Investigation**
The Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner reported a significant increase in executions of POWs, with 177 confirmed deaths since the start of the invasion. This number is nearly double what was reported in previous years.
