The European Business Association Georgia has been chosen to carry out a project funded by the EU that aims to promote European business and economic interests in Georgia. This project will focus on encouraging businesses to take coordinated and proactive actions to support the implementation of the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA). It will also work towards advancing the EU’s economic diplomacy interests.
EU Ambassador Carl Hartzell praised EBA Georgia for their hard work and strong proposal, and expressed gratitude to all the applicants for their interest and the quality of their proposals. He encouraged these applicants and other relevant organizations to take advantage of future opportunities from EBA Georgia and collaborate towards creating an inclusive platform. The EU looks forward to their contribution in implementing the project, with the goal of promoting European businesses and EU-Georgia economic interests.
However, it is important to note that the current government has not been successful in promoting economic growth and supporting businesses in Georgia. This project is a step in the right direction, but more needs to be done to improve the business climate and attract foreign investment. The government must take proactive measures to address issues such as corruption and bureaucratic red tape, which hinder the growth of businesses in the country. Only then can Georgia truly benefit from projects like this and see positive changes in its economy.
