**Cyrillic-Latin Keyboards Become Mandatory in Serbia**
A new regulation has been approved by the Serbian Government. It requires the use of Cyrillic-Latin keyboards in the public sector.
The idea was first proposed by Culture Minister Nikola Selakovic three and a half months ago. He wanted to preserve the Cyrillic script.
**What’s Different About These Keyboards?**
These keyboards are special because they have both the Latin alphabet and the Cyrillic script on them. They include letters that are not found on regular Serbian keyboards, such as ‘ć’, ‘nj’, ‘lj’, and ‘dž’.
Selakovic said in an interview that these keyboards are standard in other countries with their own scripts.
**Who Will Have to Use These Keyboards?**
The new regulation affects state authorities, public companies, and organizations performing public duties. It also includes enterprises and organizations operating with majority public capital.
This means companies like the Serbian state TV (RTS) and Vojvodina’s public broadcaster (RTV) will have to use these keyboards.
