This adds a new level of intrigue to the recent meeting between UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Biden, where they discussed Ukraine policy.

However, with Biden announcing his decision to not seek -election and potentially being replaced by Trump, who has expressed a desire to cut off to Ukraine and potentially withdraw from NATO, the situation becomes even more uncertain. On the other hand, Democratic nominee Kamala Harris has reaffirmed America’s commitment to Ukraine if she is elected.

During their meeting, Starmer and Biden discussed the possibility of allowing Ukraine to use British-built missiles to target deep within their territory. While Starmer could authorize the use of these missiles, he cannot give consent for the targeting data needed for such strikes, as it is controlled by the US Department of Defense.

Although Secretary of has suggested a potential change in policy, White House spokesperson John Kirby stated that no decision was expected during the meeting. However, Starmer hinted at the possibility of a change in policy during the portion of the meeting open to the press.
