The Minister of Internal Affairs in Georgia, Vakhtang , has appointed as his Deputy. However, this decision is already being questioned due Tadumadze’s own past controversies and sanctions.

**Who is Shalva Tadumadze?**

Tadumadze is a Supreme Court judge elected life in 2019. Before that, he was the Chief Prosecutor of Georgia from 2018-2019 and head of the government administration during the same period. He has also worked as a lawyer for Bidzina Ivanishvili, a wealthy businessman.

**A Clouded Past**

Tadumadze’s past is marred by controversy. A document certifying his education was questioned for its authenticity. Transparency -Georgia raised doubts about the diploma, which stated that Tadumadze entered an institution in 1993, even though it wasn’t founded until 1994.

**Sanctions from Lithuania**

Tadumadze has been sanctioned by Lithuania for undermining democracy in Georgia. 15 of this year, Lithuania imposed sanctions on him and other Georgian individuals for their role in suppressing peaceful , journalists, and opposition figures.
