**Ukraine Boosts Domestic Military Production**
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has certified over 1,300 types of military equipment for use in 2024. This is a significant increase from previous years.
Of these items, around 75% are made in Ukraine itself. The government wants to reduce its reliance on foreign aid and build up its own defenses during the ongoing war with Russia.
The deputy defense minister said that this shows Ukrainian manufacturers are very good at what they do and can compete with other countries.
**What’s Being Certified**
The Ministry has certified a range of military equipment, including:
* 251 systems for unmanned drones
* 169 types of ammunition
* 153 electronic warfare tools
* 108 engineering items (such as bulldozers)
* 97 communication devices
* 57 ground-based missile systems
