**Russia’s New Year Attack on Ukraine**
On January 1, Russia launched a drone attack on Kyiv. The attack killed one person and injured at least seven others, including two pregnant women.
The National Bank of Ukraine reported that its building in the Pechersk District was damaged by falling debris. However, the bank said all its systems are working normally.
**Holiday Period Attacks**
This is not the first time Russia has attacked Ukraine during the holiday period. President Volodymyr Zelensky said on December 29 that Moscow had increased its aerial attacks.
On Christmas Day, Russia launched a large-scale attack on multiple cities, firing 78 missiles and 106 drones.
