Two groups gathered on New Year’s Eve in central Belgrade. One group was at a concert organized by the city authorities, while the other group was led by students a silent protest.

**Students’ Silent Protest**

Belgrade students and many others gathered outside the Serbian Presidency building and marched to the Students’ Square for their daily 15 Minutes of Silence protest. The protest is in memory of people killed in a November incident at Novi Sad Railway Station. On New Year’s Eve, the crowd observed the protest and then quietly left.

A similar silent protest was held earlier this month at Slavija Square with mobile phones raised to light up the night .
