**Serbian President’s Claim of 17,000 Loyalists Raises Concerns**
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that there are 17,000 people in Serbia who support him and are ready to take extreme actions to defend him. This claim was made by Marinika Tepic, vice-president of the opposition Party of Freedom and Justice (SSP).
Vucic‘s brother is leading this group, which has grown from 1,019 members to 17,000. They reportedly meet in a small church, according to Tepic. The fact that Vucic publicly acknowledged this paramilitary formation has raised concerns.
**No Response from Prosecutor’s Office**
Tepic said that the Prosecutor’s Office has not responded to Vucic’s public acknowledgment of this group. She also criticized Serbian Patriarch Porfirije for not speaking out against the use of a church by extremists.
**Labeling Students as Spies**
The situation in Serbia is getting worse, according to Tepic. She pointed out that students are being labeled as Croatian spies and that the government is accusing them of acting on orders from Croatian intelligence services.
**Demanding Action from Prosecutor’s Office**
Tepic urged the Prosecutor’s Office to take immediate action against these extremists. She said that institutions in Serbia should be responding to threats against peaceful and democratic opposition, but so far they have been silent.
