As of September 16, 2022, the General Staff of Ukraine‘s Armed Forces has reported that Russia has lost a total of 634,860 troops since their full-scale invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. This number includes 1,060 casualties that Russian forces have suffered in just the past day.
The report also states that Russia has lost a significant amount of military equipment, including 8,683 tanks, 17,071 armored fighting vehicles, 24,712 vehicles and fuel tanks, 18,123 artillery systems, 1,187 multiple launch rocket systems, 947 air defense systems, 369 airplanes, 328 helicopters, 15,263 drones, 28 ships and boats, and one submarine.
These losses demonstrate the significant impact that the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has had on both sides. It is a tragic reminder of the toll that war takes on human lives and resources.
