Russian Forces Attack Zaporizhzhia Oblast
On January 2, 2025, Russian forces attacked the south-Ukrainian region of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. They conducted a total of 361 strikes on different settlements in the area.
A civilian was killed in Stepnohirsk when a guided bomb hit a five-story residential building early in the morning. Emergency services had to work for five hours to recover the body.
The attacks included airstrikes, drone strikes, and artillery fire. There were 11 airstrikes on Stepnohirsk alone, and also 221 drone strikes and 119 artillery strikes across the region.
Ten multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) attacks were reported. Authorities received 11 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.
