Russian Strikes on Ukraine Kill 2, Hurt 21
Russian forces attacked Ukraine with drones and missiles over the past day. According to regional authorities, two civilians were killed and 21 people were hurt.
On the night of January 3, Russia launched 81 drones from several cities in Russia. Ukrainian air defense units shot down 34 of these drones. The rest were lost due to electronic warfare countermeasures.
Russia also fired three Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Chernihiv Oblast on January 3. One man was killed and four people were hurt. Two houses were destroyed, and 10 others were damaged.
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Russia used Grad multiple rocket launchers to attack the village of Stepnohirsk. A man was killed, and his wife was hospitalized with injuries.
Russia targeted 40 settlements in Kherson Oblast over the past day. Eight people were injured, including a 71-year-old man who was hurt by a drone attack in Antonivka.
In Donetsk Oblast, four people were injured in Sloviansk, and one person was hurt in Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka. In Kharkiv Oblast, two men were injured in separate drone attacks.
