**Russian Journalist Killed in Ukraine**
A Ukrainian drone attack has killed a Russian journalist. Alexander Martemyanov was traveling on a highway in occupied eastern Ukraine when the attack happened.
Martemyanov had been reporting on shelling in the city of Horlivka with colleagues. Their vehicle was struck by a kamikaze drone, killing Martemyanov and injuring five others, including another journalist from Russia‘s state-owned news agency RIA Novosti.
The Kyiv Independent cannot confirm this information yet. The Russian newspaper Izvestia reported that the car was attacked by a kamikaze drone, causing Martemyanov’s death.
This is not the first time journalists have been killed while covering the war in Ukraine. At least 15 journalists have lost their lives since the conflict began.
