**Opposition Parties in Georgia Want OSCE to Condition Visit on Holding New Elections**

Three opposition parties in Georgia have written a joint letter to Pia Kauma, the President of the OSCE’s Parliamentary Assembly. They want her visit to be conditional on the government committing to new elections and releasing detained protesters.

The letter says that the Georgian Dream (GD) government is only focused on getting international recognition for its flawed election results from 26. The opposition parties say this is an illegitimate government, with a one-party and president.

**Separate Letter from Gakharia for Georgia**

A fourth , Gakharia for Georgia, has also written a separate letter to Pia Kauma. Their leader, Giorgi Kakharia, says that the OSCE President’s visit could have bad consequences for the people of Georgia fighting for and a future.

**European Criticism**

Some European are also criticizing the planned visit. Richard Kohl, a MEP, called it “a disastrous and ill-timed move” on his X account. He says that such a visit would be a propaganda victory for the , and undermine the credibility of the OSCE.

Rasa Juknevičienė, a Lithuanian MEP, also spoke out against the visit. She said it would only help Ivanishvili, who created the state capture scheme in Georgia.
