Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi said on December 20 that Ukraine and the US had agreed on a preliminary date for Kellogg’s visit to Kyiv. However, that date was never made public.
Kellogg planned to visit several European capitals, including Rome and Paris, as part of the new administration’s efforts to address Russia‘s war against Ukraine. Sources confirmed on January 6 that he remains committed to visiting these cities.
**Background**
Kellogg is a former national security advisor to Vice President Mike Pence. He has maintained close ties with Kyiv in recent years. Trump has pledged to quickly end the war, but hasn’t provided details on how he plans to do it.
Zelensky recently said that Ukraine must do everything possible to end the war through diplomatic means in 2025. He also stated that a war would “end faster” under a Trump administration.
