The recent escalation in hostilities comes amid renewed Ukrainian offensive operations launched on January 5th in the Russian region. Russia suffered over 1,970 casualties in small unit actions around Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast. Ukraine’s forces also successfully shot down 28 Russian drones that were launched overnight against Ukrainian positions.
