**Parents and Teachers Protest Director’s Removal**
A group of parents, teachers, students, and alumni from the Aviation Academy in Belgrade held a protest on Wednesday. They are opposing the removal of the school’s director, Goran Cvijovic, who was fired after 24 years in the position.
The protesters claim that Cvijovic’s replacement is not qualified to lead the institution. Instead, a new director has been appointed by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). The parents and teachers are worried about the safety of their children at the academy.
**Protesters Demand Answers**
During the protest, students read out questions for the Serbian education minister. Parents expressed concerns about the basis for Cvijovic’s removal and the potential consequences for their children’s education.
“We want to know what will happen to our children’s certificates and the time, effort, and money we’ve invested in their education,” said Dragana Veljovic, a mother of a student at the academy.
**Teachers Threaten Resignations**
The teachers and responsible leaders from certified organizations at the Aviation Academy have threatened to submit their resignations on January 9. If they do, it could lead to the loss of all the academy’s certifications. This would make the work of the school meaningless, according to teacher Sasa Predic.
“We gathered here today to make it clear that politics has no place in education,” Predic emphasized.
