**Ukraine Seeks Air Defense Licenses from U.S.**
President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukraine is in talks with the United States to obtain licenses for manufacturing air defense systems and missiles on its territory.
This was stated by President Zelensky at the opening of the 25th Ramstein summit, which focused on strengthening Ukraine’s defenses. The summit is scheduled to take place before U.S. President-elect Donald Trump takes office on January 20.
The president mentioned that these licenses could be a significant part of Ukraine’s security guarantees. He also called for additional air defense systems after the Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia, which killed 13 people and injured over 100.

President Zelensky emphasized that the recent Russian attack was just one of many incidents in a three-year war with Russia. He stated that Ukraine needs more air defense systems to defend itself against Russia’s aggression.
This is not the first time President Zelensky has asked the U.S. for licenses to produce Patriot air defense systems in Ukraine. In December, he said that he had repeatedly made this request but had not received permission yet.
