**Court Rejects Request to Detain Former Minister**
The Higher Court in Novi Sad has refused a request from the prosecutor‘s office to keep former Construction Minister Goran Vesic in detention. Vesic is one of 13 people charged over last year’s train station accident, which killed 15 people.
A concrete awning collapsed at the renovated train station on November 1. The charges against Vesic include causing danger to public safety. In a previous hearing, Vesic was released from detention due to lack of evidence.
The Higher Court said that the prosecutor’s latest request lacked clarity and justification. They pointed out that no new evidence had been presented to support the detention request. As a result, Vesic will not be detained at this time.
