**Salome Zurabishvili: Elections Need Preparation**
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, has spoken out about the need for preparation before elections. In a speech in Zugdidi, she said that simply calling for elections is not enough.
“We must be ready,” she emphasized. “Elections require preparation on all fronts.” She also stressed that it’s essential to know who you are and where you stand as a country, so that the next elections will not be about “I don‘t like this party or that party.”
**Create Your Own Party**
Zurabishvili encouraged people to create their own parties if they don’t like the existing ones. She said, “Your time has come!” and added that diversity is what makes a country strong.
She also noted that preparation is crucial for observers and for making sure the elections are free and fair. “We must not be unprepared,” she warned. “I am working to establish the conditions necessary to ensure that you can believe the elections will truly be free and fair.”
**A Path to Peace**
Zurabishvili believes that well-prepared elections are the path to peace, freedom, and democracy in Georgia. She acknowledged that previous elections were not perfect, but she stressed that it’s essential to learn from those mistakes.
“We must be both confident and prepared,” she said. “This is our duty – yours and mine – in this peaceful struggle.”
**A Message of Unity**
Zurabishvili ended her speech with a message of unity: “Glory to Georgia!”
