Georgian President Visits , Urges Protesters Be Prepared for Elections

President Salome Zurabishvili visited the town of Zugdidi as part of her “regional tour”. She met with protesters and encouraged them to prepare for potential new elections.

Preparing for elections is essential for democratic outcome, she said. The president emphasized that citizens should not be satisfied with existing political parties and should form new ones if they are unhappy.

“If you don’t like it, form your own!” Zurabishvili declared. She stressed the importance of preparing for new elections as the cornerstone of peaceful and democratic development.

The president also highlighted the need to address uncertainty in previous elections. She assured citizens that she is working to ensure minimum conditions are met for .

Zurabishvili accused the ruling party of serving by trying to divide the country. She said is trying to create confrontation and divide Georgia into two sides, but there is no “two sides” in Georgia today – only one regime and society.

The president condemned cruel measures used against protesters and recalled a court hearing where 11 people were remanded in custody. She said they will be freed as the country will be freed.

Zurabishvili spoke of her upcoming visit to Washington, DC to attend President-elect ‘s inauguration. She said she has many friends in the US who are heartbroken and are doing everything they can to protect its future from Russian blows.
