**Two North Korean Soldiers Captured by Ukraine**
Ukrainian troops have captured two wounded North Korean soldiers in Russia‘s Kursk Oblast. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this on Saturday.
The two men are receiving medical care and are being held by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Kyiv. The president is grateful to Ukrainian paratroopers and special forces for their efforts in capturing the soldiers.
This was not an easy task, according to President Zelensky. In many cases, Russian and North Korean soldiers have executed wounded North Koreans to hide evidence of their involvement in the war against Ukraine.
The two captured soldiers are talking to investigators from the SBU. President Zelensky has allowed journalists to interview them, hoping to reveal the truth about the situation.
Photos were shared by President Zelensky showing two wounded men, but no proof was given that they were North Korean. One of the photos showed a Russian ID card issued to a 26-year-old man from Russia’s Tyva region.
Some reports have suggested that Russia may be hiding North Korean fighters by giving them fake IDs. In December, South Korea’s intelligence agency reported that a captured North Korean soldier had died in Ukrainian custody.
The White House also announced on Saturday that North Korean forces are experiencing mass casualties.
