Medical Students Protest Exams
Students at Novi Sad University‘s medical school are making their voices heard. They’re upset about exams that are scheduled to take place in January.
Teachers and the dean want the exams to go ahead, but students disagree. In Serbia, university students have five exam periods: January, April, June, September, and October.
The students started by protesting with a dinner on Monday evening. Later that night, they observed 15 minutes of silence just before midnight. This was to mark the start of the new year according to the Julian calendar, which is celebrated by Serbs.
The medical school has been noisy as students protest against the Dean’s Collegium decision. They want their voices heard, and it seems they’re not going to stop until something changes.
