The US government has told Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop a suspected plan to smuggle incendiary devices onto American-bound cargo planes. This was reported by The New York Times on January 14.
The devices were supposed to be hidden in parcels sent from individuals and could have caused plane crashes if they had exploded during flight. There were similar incidents in Germany and the UK in July 2024.

The US media said that Russia’s operations were intended as preparations for plots targeting the US and Canada. This information alarmed White House officials, who are now on high alert.
