**Ukraine Transfers Air Force Personnel to Ground Forces**
The Ukrainian Air Force is transferring thousands of military personnel to reinforce the country‘s Ground Forces. The move comes as Ukraine faces a severe infantry shortage on the front lines.
According to reports, over 5,000 Air Force personnel will be transferred to Ground Forces units. This includes personnel from seven Air Force brigades, including those defending Kyiv.
**Unit Staffing to Drop**
A senior Air Force officer speaking anonymously said that unit staffing levels have already dropped to 50%. If the transfer order is fully implemented, staff levels could drop further to 40%.
The officer warned that transferring “unimportant personnel” weakens unit effectiveness, particularly for anti-aircraft missile systems.
**General Staff Denies Key Transfers**
However, the General Staff of Ukraine‘s Armed Forces has denied transferring key Air Force specialists to infantry units. They emphasized that technical and flight personnel numbers are increasing.
Some Air Force and other branch personnel are being reassigned after training to strengthen ground brigades due to the critical infantry shortage.
**President Zelensky Focuses on Military Aid**
President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Ukraine’s focus is on adequately equipping its military, rather than further reducing the draft age. He made this statement in response to questions about the ongoing conflict with Russia.
