**Private Companies Strike in Georgia**
A group of private companies in Georgia are planning a nationwide “strike”. But, according to a government official, this is just political posturing.
The strike is scheduled for January 15 at 3:00 PM. However, instead of being a full-blown strike, it will only last for three hours. The organizers claim that the purpose of this action is to show the public what life would be like if Georgia becomes isolated from the rest of the world.
**Government Official Speaks Out**
Guram Macharashvili, a Parliament Member, strongly criticized the private companies’ decision to “strike”. He said that calling a three-hour break is not the same as going on strike. In his opinion, striking means refusing to operate until certain demands are met.
Macharashvili also suggested that this move is actually aimed at pleasing radical groups and will ultimately have no effect. He warned that one day, the Georgian people will respond to these actions.
