Serbian Officials React to Kosovo Police Raids
The Serbian government is upset about the Kosovo police’s actions on Wednesday. Foreign Minister Marko Djuric and chief negotiator Petar Petkovic spoke out against the raids.
Djuric said the raids were a bad move that could lead to trouble. He accused the Kosovo government of trying to take away the rights and identity of Serbian people living in Kosovo. Djuric asked the international community to do something about it.
Petkovic, who leads Serbia‘s office for Kosovo, also criticized the raids. He said they were an attack on Serbian institutions and called them “terror”. Petkovic blamed the Kosovo government and the European Union for not stopping the raids.
The situation is causing tension in the region. The EU-facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina may be affected.
