**Serbia‘s Orthodox Leader Calls for Peace**
A serious car accident happened in the center of Belgrade on Thursday. A driver crashed his car through a crowd of people at a busy intersection.
The driver hit a young woman, a law school student, who was thrown onto the hood and then onto the roof of the car. She fell off and was taken to hospital with head injuries.
**Reaction from Church Leader**
Serbia’s Orthodox leader, Patriarch Porfirije, spoke out against violence after the accident. He said that aggression and violence never bring good results and called for peace and respect among people.
Patriarch Porfirije also expressed his sadness about the incident and demanded that those responsible be held accountable by the law.
